Default NOAA/NCEI Bathymetry Viewer

https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/maps/bathymetry/

I stumbled across this site and found some high resolution color bottom contours for my area (Ocean/Monmouth county NJ). I've been finding lots of "gold" on this map and punching it into my Garmin. I have the Garmin on my lap at the computer. The mouse on the viewer gives you lat/lon in decimal degrees so its best to set the garmin that way. Love the touch screen for entering and naming waypoints!
Funny thing, the viewer displays the lat/lon backwards as lon/lat...stupid. Also, if you click the mouse it marks an X. Be careful because the lat/lon readout is from the mouse position not the X!
The Axel Carlson reef is pictured here.

Its a complicated mess of a site but I found you can weed out the crap using only the checks in the circled settings.

There are some high res areas for DelMarVa and Florida reefs from Boca to Miami and Key West.

OK, I gave it a try, turned everything off except for what you suggested. I cant find anything on there, even stuff i know is there. Pretty much most of SC and NC is smooth bottom according to that chart. Do you know what the numbers by themselves mean? It sure isn't depth. Man you got to be careful with the zoom. I need a 48 inch screen to navigate it. i messed with it long enough to get a headache. I may try it again later but could really find anything other than the big drop offs and holes way out. I couldn't find any wrecks or reefs. I may be doing something wrong

no you're right SC and NC don't have much of the high def.
Great stuff in NJ and Florida East Coast.

I was playing around today and found smooth bottom where I know a wreck is. The scans there must have been done more than 5 years ago before they sunk it.
