My father has a ‘72 center console V-20. Beautiful boat I might add. Last week he got it all ready to go for the first trip of the season and after filling it up with fuel noticed a fuel smell. I know he has 2 tanks. One is under the console on top of the floor and one beneath the floor. It appears to be the one under the floor that’s leaking. It doesn’t seem like a bad leak but enough to put off an odor and yesterday we were putting a SeaStar on it in between scattered showers and could see the rainbow trail of water coming from the bilge area.
My question is how far forward does the tank go. The filler neck actually goes through the casting deck then the floor. Is it that far up or is it more toward the console. Trying to figure out just how much of a pain it’s going to be to replace.
