Default 'Bama fishing on the original SkunkBoat

Got down to Alabama last week. Fished Weiss Lake...kind of slow...but managed a few stripers and crappie and some big cats on the jugs.

looks like good times. i went jug fishing for catfish one time in Lake Lake Eufala, ala. Had a great time. Got to the ramp bout daybreak, launched the boat, put out about 10 jugs in the lake. went back to ramp, tied up boat. went to waffle house & ate breakfast for an hour or two. went back to ramp, got in boat and went out and found jugs with catfish on them.

my kind of angling

Looks like some nice family time!

What rigs were you using for the stripers?

(absent live shad...the BEST bait) The general wisdom in the lake is to use white pearl paddle tail soft plastics. We picked a few on them but caught more on a Rebel in Bass pattern. There were a lot of "followers". Fish were up in the mouth of Little River in clean cool water.

We caught no largemouth bass all week, even in the warmer main lake.

We could spy the jugs with a telescope from the porch of the house.
Its a laugh watching the jug swim around. That big cat "took both barrels down".
