The default sort order of posts in a thread is oldest to newest. This is a pain when there are a lot of posts and you have to go to last page and scroll to bottom.
You can use UserCP to Edit Options and change the sort order and max number of posts per page.

Hmmm, lots of variables that you can adjust there.
I seem to remember exploring that years ago, but forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder.
