Talking Mahi-Mahi /Sea Bass Bonanza

First trip in the Grady. Perfect glassy conditions, Toms Canyon Saturday night, Resor wreck on the way back Sunday.
0 for 3 on swordfish, a small Mako release, 36 mahi-mahi to 10 pounds off a pot at night and early morning...had to stop catching them, it was insane!!!!
nobody caught tuna

45 keeper seabags to 4+ pounds in an hour of fishing, limited out. Had to throw back 4 fluke from 3 to 5 pounds...

Got 10 full one gallon bags of mahi-mahi fillets

Hoagies from WAWA
...you probably don't understand what that means if your not from PA or NJ...I think Florida is getting them now too...

But I do enjoy a pork roll, egg & cheese on an everything.

NICE JOB, sounds like a great shakedown cruise. I had to reread the part about 10 pounds AT pot, not OF pot. I was thinking , you can get those new 4 strokes after that trip.

Good report, glad the Grady came tru for you

That's an awesome trip!

Is it unusual for the mahi to be that far north this time of year?

They are out on the edge of the gulf stream and the edge is close to the canyons this fall. Also, its warmer inside the edge than usual. Answer is, some years they are there, some not so much. Some years we get a lost one inside of 5 miles in the summer, most years they are a 60-100 mile run. This was a great year for dolphin, last year was awful.
