Default What size shaft for a v20 bracket

Hey guys. What size motor shaft am I looking for in a v20 full transom with a Gil bracket? Found a sweet deal on a 20" but I'm not sure if it's tall enough. Btw it comes with a high jacker plate.

You're going to have to measure it to see. There is no standard transom height. Most people run a 25 or 30" shaft with a bracket so the engine doesn't get dunked coming off plane, but I've seen some done with a 20" shaft too.

most conversions( not V 20's) Ive worked on use a 25 inch shaft engine, but seem to have an issue getting the engine high enough once installed. Personally, Id use a 20 inch motor, mount it so its 5 inches higher than it would be if it were transom mounted, and raise it up from there depending on how it performs.
