This one has been on the Houston Craigslist for some time now. Every time I see it I think this would be a good project for a conversion to a Center Console.
https://houston.craigslist.org/boa/6071893751.html I like the bow flare on this big boy - reminds me of a V20. A couple of 300Hp Mercury's on a bracket would be sweet. Unfortunately, my HOA would be sending me letters before I even had it in the back yard.

That thing came with twin 454's new, and I believe they said it was no speed demon with 700HP. STAMAS is still around building boats in Tarpon Springs Fl, about an hour away from where I live.

I will never own a home that's part of any HOA. To think that some pencil necked geeks have more control over MY property than the government does is just plain scary.
As to the boat.... nope. That's just proof about the saying that a boat is a hole in the water into which you pour money. For the cost to convert that one (Figure $30,000 easy) I'm sure I can find something more to what I was looking for for less cost and save a ton of time and money in the process.

I like the part where a piece of paper stating you own the boat cost $200 more than buying the boat.
I don't know destroyer, i might live in a HOA neighborhood that required you to have at least 2 boats in the yard at all times. |

I too will never live in a HOA controlled neighborhood again if I ever sell my house. There are good points and bad points to a HOA but I get tired of getting a letter in the mail that starts out with:
"We couldn't help but notice ............. (grass to tall, weeds in flower beds, trees need trimming, fence needs staining, or 50 other nit picking observations)". Yeah - you could probably spend the money and go out and buy a ready made boat in that size (If you want to dream - Mako 414 with quad 350Hp motors on it comes to mind, http://www.boattest.com/review/mako/3659_414-cc) but working on projects keeps me busy and I get to try out a variety of boats. I usually buy them cheep, fix them up, run them for a season or two, and have managed to sell a couple for a profit to fund the next one.
