Default Shift link on a 06 115 merc opti.

Greetings, 1st post on here, but been following for awhile lots of useful info.
I'm look for some info on how to change the shift link on my engine, do I need to take the power head off or can I change it with just taking off the lower cover and how do I go about it. I've tried to remove the lower cowling but I can't get it off any help would be grateful .

by lower cowling, u mean the pan the cowling sits on?

doing this from memory, but should be 4 small bolts, maybe 5, 2 on the outside, 3 on the inside, something like that.

if you mean the mid-section, your gonna have to wait for a grown up to come along.
