Default cuddy rod holders

Need to organize rods in the cuddy...like rod racks mounted to bottom of cuddy roof. Wandering what others are using that works good.

Talking

Organize? What's this word..... organize??"??

Seriously though, I use the side rod racks and the rod holders. I don't leave my rods in the boat since they have salt on them, so when I get home they get washed with sweetwater and when they are dry they go into the garage till next time.

Hehehe, I enjoy the challenge of untangling 4 rods with hooks stuck in the net!

seriously though, I need to do the same thing. Have to have a couple old rods on the boat for emergency fishing fix on the way home from work.

Most hanging rod racks available will alternate the tip and butt ends in order to save space.
You really want to be able to put them all in butt first(toward the bow).
This lessens the probability of breaking a tip or guide.

I have racks in my garage from West Marine that allow you to move the Butt end and Tip ends around using an allen key.
Going to use one of them this year in my cuddy. I don't have a picture but they are aluminum rails with white plastic loops.

Thanks guys...know what ya mean about organizing, definitely not my strong point haha. I'm sure I am the only one that has to take everything I might NEED, and after a couple of trips the cuddy is a wreck!

Cool

I have a rod rack that I got from a guy that used to work for West's that I use in my garage. It's the same one they use to display rods standing up vertically. Before I got it I had two 1" x 6" x 3' boards that I used a hole saw to drill out 2 alternating rows of large and small holes. 1" then 2 1/2". Mounted them to the ceiling of the garage on 2 x 4 studs and hung the rods there. You can probably make a similar layout out of of starboard for inside the cuddy.

Worked very well for storage. If I did that in a cuddy though I'd be afraid of slamming my head into the rods every time I went into the cuddy for a bio break or to lay down for a while or to pull up the anchor. I'll stick with the side gunnel rod racks.

These twist lock rod holders from Berkley work pretty good for overhead storage. A buddy of mine has them on his boat.
