Default Berretta leaving maryland

Looks like Berretta is leaving Maryland over new gun restcitions, taking 300 jobs and a bunch of taxs with them. Good to see more companies standing up, add them to Magpul and many others

Wow... I didn't realize Berretta was leaving the state. Makes sense given how crazy things are getting here.

I've been bulking up on ammo lately and buying another gun or two with the goal of landing an AR at a reasonable price before they get banned here.

BGA, check out http://palmettostatearmory.com/, you can order the stripped lower and have it sent thru the FFL, then everything else you need to build one is considered "parts"and can be shipped right to your front door. I had $739 in my last build, but that was right before Sandy Hook, you're looking at around $1000 for a bottom $ build now

Spare, thanks for the note. I've been waiting for one of our local dealers to get some in so as to forego the darn transfer fee, but I may just have to bite the bullet, as they say :-(

Every once in a while (recently even) Bass Pro gets them in and they still sell them at the pre Sandy prices, which is awesome.

That said, getting the stripped lower now will at least give me time to save to complete the build, which is a bonus as far as cash flow is concerned at the moment (especially with the boating season at the doorstep...).

I hope all is well with you, buddy. Thanks again.

I have $800 in my post Sandy Hook build. Prices are on the decrease again to. I just got another parts kit for $60. Deals are out there but you have to be quick.

Sorry to hijack this thread guys... So, to stay in line with the OP, yeah MD stinks WRT gun laws. :-)

Just one more question... Curapa, did you find your lower unit at a local gun shop or did you have it shipped and pay an outrageous transfer fee?

I'm stoked that you were able to build yours for $800. That's what my buddy was able to do pre Sandy, but not since...

I ordered the lower and paid a $30 transfer fee. I have $800 in it including sights and other accessories. I could have saved more if I had not been so impatient.
