Default Any Other Boats with V-20 Cabin Layout?

Hello all,

I grew up on a V-20 cuddy and have been casually looking to pick one up for a few years. The closer I get to buying one, I realize it may not be the best all-around hull for me as its too heavy and too thirsty for me to run as much as I want to.

What I really love about the V-20s is the layout, in particular the walkthrough windshield coupled with the enclosed cuddy cabin. I have seen very few boats that share this layout, and the ones I have seen are V-20 copies like the Scorpions.

Does anyone know of any other boats with the walkthrough windshield and an enclosed cuddy?

the only boat I know of that has a similar layout and capability, that is lighter than the V is the Sea Craft Safari or Scepter 20. Even though its a 20ft boat, its a little smaller than the V, Weight posted for the Scepter is 1650 bare hull, 1800 for the Safari. I know they tend to run better with smaller hp than a V will. If you get any smaller than that, the cuddy tends to take up too much room. Stingray use to offer a closed bow 176 and 192, they offered it mostly in I/O, but the "cabin" is more of a crawl space or storage area

Just before I discovered the V20...didn't know it existed...I ran across an 18' Wellcraft in a boat bone-yard...full windshield, w/cuddy as you describe, however there was no walk-thru capability...you had to get under the cuddy and access the bow thru a hatch just forward of the windshield...I came close to buying that boat, but the bow access bugged me...I think it was a late 60s model if you wanna look for one of those...
That was back in the late 90s and I've never seen or heard of that boat since...

1. Chris Craft Scorpion 21

2. T Craft, Florida - I believe out of business. My family had one in the early 80's.
Looked very much like the V 20 /21 and similiar cuddy design, back to back seating etc.........

3. SeaCraft Moesly 21'
I've been reading about this legendary boat on Classic SeaCraft web site. A 21' with 7' bunks AND wide open deck like our V's........ Very rare, very early SeaCraft, not produced after Potter took over. Reportedly extremely sea worthy with exceptional ride in chop. Huge and high bow design, uniquely shaped Deep V to RUN through 3-4' chop like a knife through warm butter. Presently I consider this............my " holy grail boat."
