Default Yamaha no start + no tilt and trim

Just as the title says I went to start the engine for the first time this season. I only get a click when hitting the trim/tilt switch and there are no alarm sounds when turning the key to run. I do hear a slight buzzing/humming soud when in run but thats it. The motor will turn over but I didn't get to try to start it since my flushers fell apart. I'm assuming it probably wont start at the moment anyway. Anybody have any advice an where to start troubleshooting? The motor is a 96 250 hp.

I'll make the presumption that it was ok and running when you put it away last winter, so it sounds to me like a case of winter corrosion on your wire terminals. Clean, check and tighten all your connections (don't forget fuses) I'll bet that solves your problem. If it doesn't, then my next step would be to replace the positive and the negative cables going from your battery to the engine.

Got it running but still no alarm sound when first turning the key. Maybe I'm crazy but I thought the alarm sounded for a second when first turning the key to run??? Anyway Ill deal with that later. I jumped the trim motor to a battery and nothing. So I guess I'll need to replace that. Only problem is the previous owner butchered the manual realease valve so hopefully I can break it loose with an impact screw driver.
