Default old sticker removel

while i am waiting to take the motor to the mechanic i decided to repaint the cowling. Any suggestions on how to get the old stickers off with out messing the fiberglass up. i thought of using 60 grit paper and just sanding the sticker down........ANY SUGGESTIONS

Heat it, razor blade to get started then peel as much as you can. Then get 3m general purpose adhesive remover to get gum off. Thats how I do it.

Johnsonboat is right. The guy that runs the auto pait shop across the road uses a heat gun like a hair dryer and peels them right off. You can probably use a little acetone or alcohol to remove the gum.
