Default Looking for a V21

As we all know, everyone here either would love to have a V, Loves the V they have, or misses the V they had and wishes they had another. After a couple of seasons away from the V20 I enjoyed for 8 seasons, it's time to get another V. I saw DMoore's post and what a nice boat. I would give 12,000 for that boat, if I had it. I'm looking up move up to the V21 this time and would like to spend around 7-8000. Anyone see anything out there?

Keep checking in rb437...21s in that price range show up here from time to time...Spare found an abandoned 21 a few years back...I bought it for 1200 bucks...$200 worth of fiberglass repair a good clean up and install motor and all boat electronics/hardware I already had and I had a pretty nice 21...

That's an extreme example...you'll see turn key 21s here from time to time as well...but be patient...lots of other places to look for a 21 as well, not just here...it's just that this is the most fun place to look...

You owe it to yourself to travel 2 hours and see this boat in person.....once you do you WILL come up with that 4k in short order......lot of "quality" boat for the money. Besides, if you found one in that 7-8k price range you will more than likely invest way more than 4k in boat/motor & trailer getting it like you want....at least that's been my experience anyway.......think about it! : ) Dave

Thanks Dmoore, I think you raise a valid point and I have no doubt the quality of your boat is there. It is unlikely that I will find a turnkey boat like this in my price range. Unfortunately its about what I can afford and 12K is just too much for me. I will be sorry to see this one get away. I'll be watching. If I can come up with more, I'll let you know. If you can take less, PM me.

Craigslist all over the country, boat ads, marinas, google V21 for sale, and all the internet sites you can think of. That's how I did it until I found:
1. My former Mako CC in N.Carolina
2. My current 96' V21, right here in NJ where I live

Look hard and you'll find it. I looked at some crap before finding my current V boat.
People who wasted my time claiming " excellent" condition etc. Anyway that's another fun topic of discussion. The more boats you look at, the easier it is to know when you find the right one. Beware to check the hull, transom, deck, and wood in the cuddy very carefully.
Don't buy a rotten boat.

Default A good deal?

Waiting to hear back from seller on this one. Any comments positive or negative on a 210 Coastal?

Looks like a nice rig...... I suppose like any boat, you've got to go through it carefully to check it out, and go for a ride too. If it checks out ok, and if it runs ok, and if you like how it rides, then you may have a winner.

its a good boat, a friend had one and i hated the raised seats, i thought the floor space was less then the v20?

as dmoore said by the time you fix up stuff on a new to you boat you will be up there in $$!
but i have been were you are and always had to build as i went. i don't even know what i spent on my v20, and don;t want to know!! but i had to do with what i had. now the sea ox, i bought for $2k and after all repairs, motors, new hardtop, all new radar, fish finder, gps and countless other stuff i am about a total $20,000 yes 20k!!
when i look around whats out there for 20k i am wish i could get that! but mine goes and does what i want with no worry and its all mine!

good luck!!
