got out at daybreak Sunday, solo (friends hung over & didn't show. I hate that!). Wasted an hour near Manasquan Inlet then ran down to Seaside Park. Slow pickins out in 40' to 60' with a 15 lb keeper before noon then I caught a big blue so decided to run into the beach.
Found a nice little rip at the north end of Island Beach. Started a drift in 25' towards the beach. Caught a bass on EVERY drop for an hour and a half drifting the exact same drift. Mostly 18" to 26" but several keeper size. One was 36" released. Jigging black tailed A47. Went this morning with the previous day's no-shows. Ran through some bunker in Mantoloking, snagged a few, no bites. Continued down to Island Beach. Started slow got 6 on jigs in first 2 hours but they were there. Had 2 bites on live bunker but the little bass couldn't find the hook. Tried different depths and 30' seemed to be the best zone. at 9am I found em in 30' and it was a steady bite for 30 miniutes. Took 4 keepers. Had to be at work at noon. Definitely worth the 25 minute ride. ![]() I think I saw a yellow V20 (Brielly?) early. Did you get into them?
