Default Mystery wires? Do you know?

SO I cleaned up a bunch of corroded wiring yesterday everything is great except I have one set that I cannot figure out. THey are red and black 14 gauge or so. THey go from the battery area to a switch mounted on the upper inside of the fire extinguisher then continue up inside of gunnel and disappear. It looks as if there is some tubing that goes up the gunnel also which leads me to think possible 3rd bilge way up in front of bow under cuddy or a wash down. It looks like it is factory that is why I am asking if any of you guys have the same set up.

Thank you in advance

There were alot of options available from the factory.....never have seen that set up but my guess is going to be washdown pump....if it was a forward bilge pump I would think they would wire it to the helm with the rest of the stuff....washdown is something you tend to use in the stern so a switch easier to reach might be put there.....just a guess of course.

If its factory wiring it would be a brown wire for bilge pump or washdown. Red would be power supply for the dash. Unless it was added by a previous owner. Give it a tug while someone is watching the wires under the dash.

This is just a SWAG, but the location of the switch is interesting to me. Almost sounds like some kind of alarm or kill switch that someone put in long ago. I mean, why would anyone put a switch up and behind the fire extinguisher unless they wanted to hide it?

It is an 1986 hull. I really lean toward washdown but I cannot find a water pickup thru the hull or anything.

nine times out of ten, when you run into a mystery wire, it usually had soemthing to do with a stereo
