| temp alarm

150 mercury black max 1988, I was out the other ay when my temp, alarm went off I checked the temp gauge, and it was pissing out the back and everything was good so why do you think it went off? I restarted my engine and the alarm didnt go off again. Is it something i should be concerned about, whe at would trigger it to go off for no reason thanks

It couild also be one of the temp sensors on your engine. I have a 91' 200 Merc and it was doing the same thing.. alarm would go off.. pisser was pissing fine, engine felt warm, not hot to the touch, etc etc.. Turned out one of the temp sensors was bad.. would go off every now and then just because it felt like it. Replaced both of them... problem solved.
