Default Help West Resin will not kick..

I brought a Gallon of resin from West Marine it will not harden period whats wrong ? I mix a quart with 9 cc of hardener as instructed.
Never did the Resin brought from defunct Boater World failed me as a matter of fact it will always tend to kick early I miss that store .Not to mentioned I paid 1o bucks more per gallon ..
My only option is to wipe it clean with acetone and start over ?

See product in q

I went thru a lot of resin on my rebuild. The ambient temperature and humidity reaks havoc with kick times. Unfortunately, the hardener does go bad. I used to keep the MEKP in the fridge. Mini-Craft of Florida is a good supplier. Let me know if you need something. Vic

are you referring to polyester resin and not west system epoxy? if it is poly resin, i would suspect the MEK.

Never had that problem. I bought all my poly resin from Carolina Classic boat builders. They sold me 3 gallons and the MEK for $15.00. Great folks! It kicked like crazy!

I will test a small batch this weekend , I was glassing a peice of ply wood 2" x 14" to use as support/reinforcement for my anchor platform to be placed inside the cuddy under the deck I will post pictures once completed

Don't feel badly . . . I left a whole pail 5 gallons of resin outside. The cap wasn't on tight and water leaked in . . . Now I have a bucket of resin that won't cure :( There goes $120 out the window.
