Oh my goodness, please tell me this person did not put 1 x 6 decking boards in the boat!! At least he used the good stuff....

you NC boys sure are creative!.... like you said at least he used the good stuff.....I saw a boat for sale a while ago where he used pressure treated...even made the center console out of lumber as well....looked like a big orange crate nailed down to the floor.

Way back in the 60's a lot of high end boats such as the Formula's and Etc. came with something called "Nautolex". It was a vinyl floor covering typically applied over plywood that looked similar, but with a narrower board pattern. I've seen it in many boats and it worked a little better than the indoor/outdoor carpeting of the Bayliner days. I still like the saying "carpet can hide a multitude of sins". If that's decking boards, what a waste of time.

I'm thinking about putting roofing shingles on my vinyl bimini top - thoughts? Good idea, bad? It is not leaking yet, I'm just trying to make sure it doesn't. Open to other options - tin, metal, cool seal, etc.
