"I wanted to be back aboard my Busted Flush moored in Slip F-18, Bahia Mar, Ft. Lauderdale, my 52 feet of custom houseboat which I could fill with my favorite brand of darling girls, the brown untroubled ones, eager galley slaves, the hair-salty, rump-sandy, beer-opening, fish-catching, happy-making girls in sunfaded fabrics, sun-streaked hair" -Travis McGee

I tend to read a lot in the winter, i want to go Hang with Travis.......

Travis McGee is an extremely adept "Salvage Consultant". Right phat?

I like "Free Fall in Crimson"

Willy, google John D. McDonald novels. I'm quite sure you'd like them.

I saw that quote on another site, but i think it is from "nightmare in pink", but if i had to pick one book to get you started on the series it would be "Empty Copper Sea". "The Deep Blue Goodbye" & "Turquoise Lament" are also good. i think there are 20 or 21 books in the travis mcgee series written from mid 60's to early 80's.

willy, have you read any of the bosch series by michael connelly?

"The Black Echo" was the first and there are about 8 or 9 more. Crime/Mystery novels about a LA detective. if you can't find that one, try either "Bloodwork" or "The Poet"

Macdonald's travis mcgee books were great I read them all years ago and often think about reading them again. What was the name of his car? Half Rolls Royce and half pick-up truck maybe...Gladyss, Agnus. Guy got laid all the time, lived on a house boat in FLA and drank Gin all day, what a life. He may have done some detective work too...
