I am super-pissed they let Smoltz walk. How could they think that was ok?
Anyone else care? |

He's getting washed up anyways. He was great about about 12 years ago. Maddux was always my favorite.

Wifey and I were Big Braves fans for years...she's from GA...then when TW bought 'em and Ted was no longer in the picture, they just became another P & L sheet for TW...lost their soul as far as I'm concerned...not to mention their pitching staff...as for Smoltz, I hope the best for him...sometimes it's just time to move on...

In all serious though, Smoltz was anything but washed up. In 2007 he posted a 3.11 ERA. His first start in 2008 he out-dueled Johan Santana in a 2-1 Braves win. If I were GM I think I would have rolled the dice on Smoltz being able to come back after surgery. Especially when you look at the rotation they currently have now. Having said that, it's been a few days and I'm not quite as upset now as I was when initially heard the news. I hope Smoltzie has a great year w/ the Red Sox and when they come to Turner Field in June, I hope he throws a no-hitter against the Braves. |

I did not like it when the Tigers traded him. Billy Mac
