My point in this is a statement I have heard many times,
if guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns.
No I am not a member of NRA or any other group.
I am just John Q. Public.
I don't pay attention to most "studies" cause whoever does them can make em say whatever they want.

But in my 19 years of dealing with criminals, most of the ones with guns obtained them illegally, either by stealing them or just buying them on the street. A very common charge when I find a gun on someone is "possesion of a firearm by a convicted felon". The bad guys are BAD, they don't follow the rules so it doesn't matter what the rules are.

Now we could start making them stay in prison for doing their crimes, but we are all going to have to pony up the money to build more prisons to do that.

I do believe that if a guy knew that he was going to prison for 10 years for having a stolen gun, then he might not do it, but as it is, the first 2 or 3 times he is caught, he is told, "now if you do it again, you are gonna be in trouble", which aint true, until he kills someone, them he might have to stay in for 10 years.

The only way to keep guns out of their hands would be to get rid of all of the guns. And that aint gonna happen unless the Communists take power.
