Fire for the mixed bag you and actually most of us do the skiff is not the boat. Don't get me wrong, fished on little ones and big ones the CS's and few other companies versions and they are simple, which I like, they are generally very economical, which I again like, they are very stable for back bay and some river work and they have a shallow draft. Make a good back bay/ sod bank fly fishing rig.
But if you are going to use them for general bay/inlet/light off shore use you better be built like Gumby because they will slap you like a biatch non stop unless you are literally going to idle whereever you go.
Even a mild V like a Maycraft will ride ten times better and if you put a set of trim tabs on it it actually rides sweet and dry.
You could put trim tabs all day on a CS and you will still get soaked and biatch slapped.
With my neck I can't even think about the rides I had in them as a younger fellow, it hurts too much ;)
