Reg, The boxes under my jump seats are made of wood and when the day comes that I replace them I will go plastic. I have never had a problem with the seats blocking the drains. The backrest tilts back slightly and keeps the base of the seat foward of the drains. With the space along either side of the base as well as the waters ability to seep under the seat base (this is why plastic is the way to go) drainage has never been a problem.
