3m4000UV is new.

It is like 4200 in that it is somewhat flexible and is removable without the magic potion like 5200. It is just as strong as 4200 (extremely), has the ability to stick to plastics such as ABS and has an additive that resist UV light degradation.

I would not use screws. I would take the plastic swivel base to my radio and place this in a small bed of 4000UV and hold in position with duct tape until fully cured. Then remove tape and install radio. Non invasive and if/when you want to relocate VHF, or get a different VHF with a diff base -- you can remove and start all over again without holes left over.

ps my VHF is on my dash -- but that is how I would handle your situation.
