Looks like you're off to a good start. Nice clean wiring job! Don't know why they can't do that at the factories. I guess it takes too much time ($$$). I like those new rocker switches. Their the ones I'm going to be using too. Looks like you're still working under a tarp there.
Would it be possible to mount a small flush mount compass on that sloped shelf in front of the instrument panel and free up the shelf up top for electronics mounting? Can't tell if it's wide enough in the photo. Just a thought. I know there is a serious lack of space in order to mount anything there.
