Re: Rod and Reel Combo help
That used to be my stomping, eeeerrrrrr fishing grounds for many years. I do miss a watching a sunrise cruising out of lynnhaven inlet on a crisp november morning. I used to rent a slip for november and december and save some vacation time just to go striper fishing. First year I did it it rained, no, poured every day, for the first 5 days. I was at the marina everyday with my battery charger keeping the batteries hot, my bilge pump would drain one a day. Finally it cleared on thursday, I was out with one buddy at "o" dark thirty, at the fishing spot about 20 minutes before sunrise. by 9:00 am we probably caught 15 fish. We kept two big 'uns each, and then we were jerks, we were the only boat really catching anything. We would hold them up over our head for everyone to see, then we would throw them overboard. Somehow we weren't very popular that morning!! After that we chased to birds, we started casting topwater poppers on 10 lb test spinning gear, we snipped off the barbs from the hooks, that way we would drop the rod tip and the fish would spit the lure. Thats one of the best fishing days ever in my life!
