If the Jack plate was going to cover the holes, then thats all I would have done.

If you going to see the holes then I would have gone marinetex.

That wood on the floor looked good to me!! I think you will be ok for a long time to come!

If still not sure, when you get the motor on there grab it from the lower unit while up in the air and try to move it around, if you hear cracking or the glass seems to be moving then you in trouble!!

Hit with rubber mallet and listen for dead spots, when the wood rots it will delamanate and sound hollow and might even move when hitting!

400# motor, any 150+ is going to be close to 400, so I tink you better stay with the power!
