Default Re: Installing NFB Steering Helm

Okay, where was I... *Oh, yes, installing NFB... * ;D

I know it's been a while, but I've finally gotten around to trying to install this steering system. *I need some help boys.

Skools hooked me up with what is shown in the previous pages of this thread. *I've installed what he sent as you will see below. *My questions and issues are in between the pics...

Okay, what should I do about the helm cover covering the the bolts? *I can't get the helm cover flush because it lays over the bolts... *Should I try and sand or grind the plastic cover in those areas? *I think I need to shave the whole thing just a bit anyway because even though it's not a 45 degree helm, there is a slight angle to it...

The other question I have has to do with whether or not there's enough space around the helm for it to function properly. *Here's what it looks like from the inside:

I think I'll be able to get the cable to feed into the helm, but it's gonna be a bit tight and will likely end up touching the side of the console there in the pic. *

I haven't been able to actually insert the cable into the helm yet because I lost the silly little key that goes onto the steering column to engage the steering wheel. *Anybody have an extra one of those little keys ??? *It's gonna cost me something like $10 to replace it because they only sell it with the steering wheel nut and washer. *Go figure *:-/

So, any help you guys have to offer will be greatly appreciated. *

Sorry about the overload of info. *It's been a while *:) *
