Re: Internal tank
I have a 84 V20 with a 60 gallon aluminum tank. The engine is a 150 Yamaha 2 stroke. The tank was leaking so I siphoned the remaining gas and pulled the tank. This is how I got the old gas out .
I bought a Yamaha male gas line fitting like the one on the engine and attached a 6 foot length of fuel line to it. I could then snap it on the fuel line from the 60 gallon tank and pump the ball to start the siphon. My tank does not have an anti-siphon valve. My tank does have a shut-off valve at the fuel tank. I siphoned off the gas into gas cans and used the gas in my lawn mower. Worked great! I usually drink beer, not gas! I had a built-in live baitwell that I wasn't using that was just large enough to drop a 24 gallon permanent plastic Tempo tank into without alot of surgery. I am now using the 24 gallon tank as a spare tank and have increased my fuel capacity to 84 gallons.
When I get around to it I will post pictures of this additional gas tank modification.
