Well it is possible to make a new deck and leave the liner in place on the sides.

I know I like my liner as it is smooth and easy to clean, it gives you a place to screw brackets to hold boat poles, gaf, and what ever else you need.

Removing the liner you will not have any were for this.

Also belive that it adds a air pocket for flotation just incase!

On my boat from what I have seen it all screws toghter with the rub rail. goes rub ril, cap, hull and then the liner.

IMO, I would cut the floor all they way around the boat, pull the floor out, do what ever you want and then glass to the sides of the boat leaving the side part of the liner.
