same motor here, 1988 175 Evinrude, it has a werid problem.

When you shut the motor off with the key it will idel down just slighty and not shut off till itys good and ready??

Might take 5 sec or 5 min before it just dies out??

Changed the key switch twice now so thats not it??

Any idea??
