Default Re: lobster Boats

Did some internet checking around on those boats, a few different companies make the same design, based on the Lowell hull design. Very sea worthy, lot of people use the 30 footer for long coastal stuff. They are slow and their draft on a 22 footer with their keel design is 3 ft :o Leaves my friend out down in Barnegat Bay area. Supposed to be very well built, stringers on the mid 80' era boats were fully encapsulated and heavy duty. Popular with lobster guys as a semi displacement hull with a diesel engine in the bigger size as fuel efficeint and sea worthy and carry a lot of weight well. The 22 footer is over 7000 lbs. Heavy boat! Fisherman that take out paying customers don't use them due to their slow speed but a lot of recreational guys up north like them because they are comfortable in the cold and due to the huge tide changes they get they have some heavy duty waves in inlets to handle and they handle them well.
