well I and a friend just took a 1985, Yamaha 40hp, it was all messed up!!

Pulled the plugs, dumped Marvel in there came back 2 days later and tried to start, *Took a min, but that thing spun like a well lubed women!

Pulled the carbs, took bowls off cleaned jets and what not.

Yesterday the thing started and ran like a champ!

But not pumping any water, removed the lower unit and will be replacing this week.

This is on a motor that I said should be trashed!! I gave it no hope what so ever!!

So give it a shot, don't spend anything on it, just oil it up and see what happens!
