Parishht is absolutely correct. The influx of buyers to the other companies would simply mean that they will have to buy gas from the bigger companies and therefore the bigger companies would still be selling gas. In fact, it's not uncommon to see things like an Exxon truck pumping fuel into the tanks at a Chevron station or vice versa.
However, it seems to me, that the bigger companies would be affected to some degree. They would not make as much money on the retail end of things if they were only selling their gas to other gas companies. In other words, they wouldn't be able to sell their gas to other gas companies for the same amount of money they'd be able to sell it to the consumer.
