Default Re: BOTTOM PAINT.

Fish, so where are the pics. of your boat bottom painted.
I waisted alot of time and money all this week painting my boat with a paint caqlled TOP SECRET. It $UCK$ !!!
Nice glossy finish, looked like a gellcoat finish, but I could peel it off with my nail. It wasnt bonding well to the Interlux barrier coat. So that was $150.00 waisted.
I then went with Interlux PC Performance bottom paint for trailered boats. That was $167.00 a gallon. The paint is suposed to be applied by sprayer, but Interlux said that it can be applied by roller *** well. WRONG. Once I made the equal mix of paint and hardner, it was like water, wouldnt even stay on the brush let alone the boat hull. So I called Interlux and raised hell. They wernt even sure of the correct ratio 1 to 1 or 3 to 1 mix.
SO I WENT OUT AND BOUGHT A GALLON OF STRIPPER !! and starting all over now. the hull has been stripped and I finshed resanding her down today. Now its finding a good bottom paint that will look nice and stick.
Fish, what barrier type primer did you use and what type of bottom paint you use. I'm thinking about using Pettit bottom paint that now has hard bright vivid colors at a cost of $167.00 a gallon. Just need to know if Pettit paint will bound to the Interlux barrier coat primer before loosing more money into a simple hull painting.
