Re: Boat Needs a Name
Looks like my handle Blue Runner is gonna win this...that'll be cool. I had a feeling I should go with that. Its just hard after going by Cash Money all these years. But, to name another boat Cash Money would be a dis-service to my beloved 17fter that's probably crushed up in the land-fill right now.
Truth be told, there was only one boat worthy of the title of "Cash Money" and it will always hold a special place in my fart, I mean heart. :'(
Poor ol Cash, I miss her and her old flexible transom.
The sound of those rusty, deteriorating trailer springs singing down the road.
The flexible floor that really absorbed the shock in a rough sea - ah those were the days.
I miss watching her take on water as the day progressed. If at any time I forgot my watch, I could alway check the bilge to see how long I'd been on the water. And that trusty bilge pump that I would have to go hold the wires on the battery to make work - I really miss that too.
I miss worrying about lighting a cigarette for all of the gasoline on my hands.
Oh yeah and how could I forget my "manual" (armstrong) starter - the old rope around the flywheel - talk about dependability at sea! 2 pulls and fire in the hole! I will miss wedging a drink cooler under the choke switch so that I could choke Cash while simultaneously pulling the rope. It really kept my coordination in top shape because I had to be so quick to knock the drink cooler out after it fired to keep from flooding my beloved engine.
And...the battery powered running lights. Its a shame that I won't have to keep an extra set of D batteries on hand at all times to make sure the running lights are operational.
Seems this V21 isn't going to be near as much fun as the 17. But I guess with time I will adjust ;D
