Default Re: Who's running a 200hp outboard?

I'm very happy with mine. I came up from a worn out OMC commercial 155 hp. I didn't go the 200 4-stroke route mostly because of weight -- the price difference was negligible. The stern sits slightly lower with the 200, and there is a difference in the handling -- not bad different, just different. I notice it most in a cross wind situation, and have thought about adding trim tabs but probably won't.

Of course the 200 does shoot the boat out and up on plane in a heartbeat, and probably added 12 mph to her top speed. But the beauty (to me) is being able to loaf along at 30-35 and feel like she's not working hard at all. And I'm burning less fuel than I did with the 155. Coming up from a 175 you might not see that much difference, but it's a world of difference for the Pipe Dream. ;D
