Default Re: FIRED HER UP TODAY MOTOR NG

look and feel around the rear of the motor. There are 2 bolts holding it to the bell housing which is mounted to he transom.
You need to pull the outdrive to get the motor out. The out drive shaft goes into the bell housing and then into the engin coupler. The engin coupler is a big rubber thing with a metal sleve inside to take the shaft. It is bolted on were the fly wheel would be in a car.

If you take your time and find all the things that have to come apart first, then it will be easy.

I put a engin lift right in my boat on plywood. lifted motor and pulled out. after I tok the engi lift and put on ground and lifted motor out to the ground.

Ck the engin coupler out good!! I put my motor back in and 2 weeks later i guess it could not handle the new torqe and broke!! Had to pull the motor again to replace it!!
This is a good time to check all!! as there are things you can't get to when the motor is in the boat.

As for the power tilt, the motor goes up but not down. There is a selanoid in there that tells it were to go, it may be bad or you have a wire rotted off it?? But the motor and pump sound good, or you may have a bad switch??

Another idea is to take it out, fiberglass the hole add a braket and have a full transom outboard!! *;D

good luck let us know how you are making out!!
