well three layers of glass on the whole thing, and 5 layers where the original crack was. made the replacement bow eye backing last weekend out of some 1/4" steel. made two pieces, there is a longer one under the main piece to spread the load. coated the steel in 3 coats of rustoleum and used 4200 on the bow where the achor cleat (that has been leaking for 21 years) caused the problem. and put some 4200 in the bow eye holes before i put the new one in.
