There's a good white marlin bite goin on at the outer banks of NC. Here's yesterday's report from Oregon Inlet:
The billfishing continues to be good . Today I counted 123 flags. All but four were white marlin. There was a blue marlin a spear fish and 2 sail fish. The blue marlin that was on yesterday arrived at the dock at 1:30AM today. It weighed 730 pounds. An impressive fish and an impressive battle. A few tuna and dolphin were caught incidental to the bill fish. This looks like the best white marlin season in awhile.A 69 pound wahoo is pictured. That boat had 4 tuna and several white marlin. Inshore good spanish mackerel and blue fish.. One inshore boat added king mackerel to the blue fish. Speckled trout, red and black drum were caught.Soma sea mullet in the morning and a couple of coabia in the afternoon. Sea mullet, gray trout, croakers were plentiful but a lot were undersize.
