The full cover came with my boat and I attribute my hulls lack of soft deck areas, shot stringers (so far as I know) and just general good condition for a 20 year old hull to keeping the darn water out of the boat (pretty ironic) during its life. It's probably easier and definately looks way cooler to keep your self bailing boat open with just a bimini like most modern boats are stored in slips and on trailers, but for every hole that's drilled in those cored hulls without proper sealing there's a shot at water infiltration and structural deterioration. Means nothing to the guy who buys the boat new and keeps it for five years, but it does mean something to a cheapskate like me who buys a 16 year old boat.
