Drain tubes are fine!! But most scuppers are larger then that to allow large stuff to come out of them, scales, fish gut, pieces of bait ect ect ect..
But they will work if thats what you want, just might have to clean them out offten to make them work good.
PM Hammer to have him show you the install he did with a bolt and some washers, this will make sure you get a good tight fit and sealed good.
