Default The Black Plague

Back in the 1300’s…. trade ships picked up the virus from Asia - fleas and rats the source.
The first ship landed in Messina, Italy with most all the ships crew dead and dying - nasty black lesions on their skin.
Too late…….this highly contagious plague spread from the docks into the towns and then across Europe killing about 1/3 the entire population.

It’s never completely been eliminated - a few cases appear still, while sanitary conditions and drugs to treat it available .

Since Edward Jenner in the 1700’s invented the first small pox vaccine, people have UNITED in the common goal of vaccines. From George Washington to President Eisenhower - vaccine mandates have been initiated for the good of all.
