This is the first summer that I've only taken my 1964 Super Skeeter out because it has just been too hot or hot and windy since the end of May. I take the Skeeter out because it is quick and easy to launch and retrieve but I still end up soaked in sweat doing either one. Forget taking the big boats out when I have to launch and retrieve them by myself.
Relief if on the way however. We're finally getting the first fall cold front coming thru tonight taking today's high of 95 degrees down to tomorrow's high of 77 degrees. I'm ready for some cool fall weather crappie fishing!

That's the same reason I have my 16.5' Wellcraft Airslot. So easy to launch and retrieve, and truthfully, unless I'm going out into the ocean it's more than big and stable enough for me.
It's amazing how much the climate changes from year to year. Some years it's hotter than heck and others it's downright cold. interesting that 1939 was the previous hottest September. That's a long time for a record to stand.
