 John, rather than epoxy which will make removing it almost impossible if you want to replace it, I'd use RTV Silicone seal, or pretty much any silicone sealant.  That way if you need to replace the gasket at a later date it's a fairly easy removal.  With Epoxy that sets hard removal is going to be a nightmare.
