Ugh Sorry to hear about your back again John. Was hoping it was on the mend. As for the spot, I'd guess it would depend on how much it was and if they (the marina) would allow me to sub-let the space. I had a great spot in Leonardo several years ago. Put my name on the waiting list and after many years slip #4 became available. In that time the rental fee went up by a third. I took the spot anyways, but due to some marital difficulties was never able to use it. Finally gave it up after 2 years. Moral is if you can use it or think you can use it take it. But f it's just going to be a money drain, no matter how good it might seem, it's time to let it go. If you can sub-let it that's another story. even if you lose a little money as long as you still maintain the rights to it for the following season then really all your paying for it the ability to maintain ownership of the spot.
