According to the bw forum, they are vastly different boats with the outrage weighing roughly 50% more, deeper v, larger fuel tank, higher hp rating, and more weight capacity all gearing it more for open water vs the montauk being geared for calmer shallower waters. Also there seems to be alot of changes to the outrage from 96 on.
