I agree. I'd be careful. Not boat related but I bought an ATV once with a 2 year warranty. 6 months in a CV Axle broke. Took it back to the stealership and they told me they didn't have my break-in oil change on file (I did it myself) so my warranty was voided. I could of hired a lawyer and fought it but in the end it was a $90 part, however a $10k+ motor....yeah that'd be a different story.
