For $3500(I think the $1500 was a different engine) it's a good price, but personnally I would pass. When they're running, they run great. BUT just one repair can turn one into a parts motor in a hurry. With DFI engines what would normally be a simple repair can cost as much as another engine of the same vintage would. Then figure in maintence costs along with the need for a dealer to do electrical repairs, they can get pretty pricey. I considered a DFI when I had my HYDRA-SPORTS for the fuel savings, until I figured 1 or 2 dealer repairs in. Then all of the sudden my old carbed thirsty 2 smoke sounded pretty dang good. Yep I used 20-30% more fuel than a DFI would have, but I could do any repair it needed, and parts were easy and cheap to come by.
